The date-of-birth label showed an asterisk while portal metadata appeared nonmandatory, so verify the live form rather than assuming required status. West Jordan Police Record Fees

West Jordan lists a $15 fee for a police report. Photos cost $25 for up to 50 images. Audio and video start at $30, with the final amount depending on duration and redaction work. These are city police-record fees, not Xchange search charges or court-copy fees.

Ask for the smallest record set that answers the question. A report may be enough when the need is the officer narrative, while photos or video are separate products. If a case is still pending, paying a fee does not override the city’s release limits. The prosecutor or counsel route may control access instead.

Booking and Arrest Records in West Jordan

No independent West Jordan city jail was identified. When WJPD makes an arrest that leads to regional custody, the Salt Lake County prisoner-information system is the place to check the booking. Nonmandatory citations can be paid through the court’s stated channels, but the court does not accept payment by phone.

West Jordan Online Incident Records

West Jordan’s online police reporting system accepts nonemergencies that occurred inside city limits. The filer provides victim or witness details, property or item data, attachments, a date and location, and a narrative. Listed categories include harassment, lost property, dumping, vandalism, fraud, identity theft, mail or package theft, vehicle burglary, theft, noninjury hit-and-run crashes, and supplemental tips.

A submission first receives a temporary number. Police review it and may return an incomplete report for revision. An approved submission receives a case number. That distinction matters in a West Jordan criminal record search: a temporary number shows that material was submitted, while an approved case number points to the accepted police record.

How West Jordan Records Reach the County

WJPD begins the local record with a report, citation, or arrest entry. A booking moves to Salt Lake County custody records. The city Justice Court receives class B or C misdemeanors, ordinances, and infractions, while Utah District Court receives felony and class A cases. A reported disposition may later reach the Utah Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Criminal Identification.

Each transfer can take time. The police file may exist before a court case is filed, and a booked charge can differ from a filed charge. BCI Right of Access is the subject’s fingerprint-linked state history, not an open public name search. Compare each source by its role and correct a mismatch through the office that maintains the underlying record.

West Jordan Citation Record Window

The Justice Court tells people with citations to wait at least five days, but no more than 14 days, before contacting the court. Checking too soon can produce no file because the citation has not arrived. Waiting beyond the stated window can create a different problem if the citation requires action.

Mandatory cases require a court appearance or arraignment. For nonmandatory matters, follow the court’s approved payment or response options. The court does not take phone payments. West Jordan and Taylorsville justice courts began sharing the West Jordan building in November 2025. The arrangement places two courts at one location, but the cities kept separate judges and administration. A visit to the same address does not make a Taylorsville file a West Jordan court record.

West Jordan Record Access Rules

Utah GRAMA classifies government records as public, private, controlled, protected, or exempt under another law. West Jordan can withhold active investigative material when release would interfere, plus protected victim or witness data, medical information, security procedures, personal identifiers, and records sealed by law or court order. Ask for the city’s classification and cited authority when a police-record request is denied.

Utah court records also follow judicial access rules. BCI criminal-history dissemination is separately limited, so GRAMA cannot be used to create a public name search of the state fingerprint repository.
